How to Migrate from One Account to Another

Transfer your lead information from one account/database to another using the simple steps below.

Whether you are switching to a new team or starting out on your own, you may need to transfer your lead information from one Follow Up Boss account to another.

  1. Sign up for your new account
    1. Navigate to the Follow Up Boss sign up page and sign up for a free trial
    2. Your signup email must not currently be used by another account.  If you would like to use the same email address, complete the following steps:
      1. Login to your original account
      2. Navigate to My Settings
      3. Add the word OLD to your login email after the @ symbol (keep in mind that this will become the new login email address for your original account) 
  2. Export your data from the original account
    1. To transfer from one account to another you will first need to export the data from your original account
      1. Please note that if you are not the account owner you will first need to obtain export permissions from your account owner
  3. Import your data into the new account
    1. Login to the new account you signed up for
    2. Navigate to Admin > Import
    3. Click Import File and select the CSV file you exported from your original account
    4. Import the file
  4. Invite your team members to the new account
    1. On your new account, navigate to Admin -> Team
    2. Click Add Users at the top right

The following information is transferable to a new Follow Up Boss account:

  • Demographic information (name, address, email address, phone number, etc)
  • Notes
  • Custom Fields
  • Background
  • Tags
  • Stages
  • Assigned Agent
  • Assigned Lender
  • Call/Text date/time (must be imported as a note)

Email templates, action plans, text templates, tasks, appointments, emails, text logs, and call logs are currently not transferable.
